One thing my Dad has always taught me is the idea that there is no dream or idea that is impossible to make a reality. He is a self-starter kind of guy which I have always admired.
The older I get, the more I realize I am like him. He is a self-employed, hardworking, and independent person. I love and admire that he has his own business and he has created his own career. He is one of the reasons why I think I have such a big desire to possibly one day have my own business. Basically, he is the man as well.
Here are somethings I have come to understand about myself:
I like my space (being hemmed in is a no-no).
I like freedom and calling the shots (basically, I like being in charge of my own destiny-Nacho Quote )
I like the idea of creating something that no one has ever thought of and making it my own.
I want to become the best at something and be able to share it with the world.
I don't want to ever settle because of money or the opinions of others.
I have the ability to do anything.
I believe in myself.
I remember seeing the movie We Bought A Zoo and feeling inspired by the message shared.
At the end of the movie, the father explains to his children how he met their mother. He said that he had the courage to go up to her and eventually asked her out on a date.
She replied with, "Why Not."
So, obviously I am not referring to romance to this post, but I do love the spirit of these two words. "WHY NOT?"
Why can't I create something so awesome that I want to share it with others. Why not? I never want to ask myself "What if" when I leave this life. I want to make sure that I did everything in my power to live and create something that added to the world I live in.
So today, if you are thinking about something that you feel is too much of a dream to accomplish--What I say to you is "Why not?" Don't limit yourself to what you THINK YOU CAN'T DO, but open yourself up to what you KNOW YOU CAN DO.
Life's beautiful. So add to that beauty. Today.
I love this soundtrack. It encompasses all the emotions I feel towards life and how nothing or anything can limit your success--except yourself. |
