+HOW WE MET

Andrew and I met the first day of Spring Semester 2015 at BYU-Idaho. We were both enrolled in IBC, which is a program where business students have to come up with a business idea, and then run it on campus for an entire semester. It so happened that Andrew and I were put into the same group.

My first interaction with him was when a mutual friend pointed us out to one another. My first impression was, "he's cute" but it wasn't until a few weeks later that Andrew and I started to talk to one another.

Our IBC business was making and selling dresses, which meant spending many hours cutting and sewing. During this time, Andrew and I would just talk. We would ask each other tons of questions--I loved getting to know him. He would do everything he could to make me laugh and smile--he even helped me with homework that I had no idea what I was doing. At this point I though he was just a friend, and I wasn't sure if he liked me, but I was sure starting to like him.

About a month into the semester, I saw Andrew at a party at my apartment complex. He came up to me and we started talking. I will admit, it was a little awkward since we had never talked to each other outside of school, but it was also so fun. We flirted a ton, and it was obvious. I then invited him and his roommates to go to Rigby Lake with some friends and I. I wanted to see him again, and knew thus would be a good way to do that.

A week later we went on our first date where we got sushi, ice cream, and then sat on a dock along the Snake River and just talked. It was so easy to talk to him, and I loved how much his mission, family, and the gospel meant to him. And of course, he made me laugh, and feel so happy!

Now, if you ask Andrew, he will tell you I was pretty slow for us to seriously start dating...but he was so patient and persistent with me. He always made me feel so special and loved, and always took care of me.... as he still does today.

We officially started dating Fall 2015, got engaged January 29, 2016, and were married on April 16, 2016 in the Los Angeles LDS Temple. We also had the opportunity to graduate together from BYU-Idaho on April 8, 2016--one week before our wedding!

It has been such an amazing journey for us both, and I am so incredibly happy that God put him in my life. He is my better half and my best friend. He is supportive, kind, and loves God. I am so excited for all of the fun adventures we have ahead of us!
